Born in Wädenswil, Switzerland, Roland Jurczok is a spoken word artist, singer and performer. He lives and works in Zurich and has performed under the name Jurczok 1001 since 1996. He is among Switzerland’s spoken word pioneers and has released six albums. His most recent publication is ‘Spoken Beats’ , a collection of his spoken word texts from the last ten years. He has appeared at the Berlin Poetry Festival, at Moscow’s Electrotheatre, at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia and at Deutsches Haus New York.
