Raj is Chief Editor of ‘The Indian Express’ and was awarded Journalist of the Year at the National Red Ink Awards. Called the “novelist of the newsroom,” his fiction has been translated into over a dozen languages. His fifth and latest, ‘The City and The Sea’, exploring the afterlife of a rape, was nominated for the JCB Prize and the DSC Prize. He received IIT Kharagpur’s Distinguished Alumnus Award for telling stories of a changing India with “courage and compassion.”
