Meena Menon is an independent journalist and former bureau chief The Hindu, Mumbai. She is the author of Riots and After in Mumbai, Reporting Pakistan, and co author of A Frayed History -The Journey of Cotton in India. She has been a journalist since 1984 and has worked with United News of India, The Times of India, Midday and The Hindu which she quit in 2015. She is also on the faculty of Xavier Institute of Communication. Her bylines have appeared in Firstpost, mongabay india.com, Economic and Political Weekly,scroll.in, wire.in, Newsclick and other media.
