Ian Jack is a British writer and journalist and a former editor of the ‘Independent on Sunday’ and the literary magazine ‘Granta’. He first came to India in the 1970s and reported from South Asia throughout the 1980s. His books include ‘Mofussil Junction’ (2013), an anthology of his writing on India. This year he took leave from his weekly column in ‘The Guardian’ to begin work on a book about Scotland.
