Ajit is Chief Economist of the Aditya Birla Group. His career has spanned both academia and corporate life. An engineer and MBA by training, he received the Distinguished Alumnus award from IIT Bombay in 2009. Active in public policy advocacy, he writes regularly in the business press, including a weekly column for ‘Mumbai Mirror’. He is a co-founder and trustee of the Association for Democratic Reforms, a citizens’ organisation engaged in electoral and political reforms.
