Are we worrying enough about water, one of the three essentials for human life? Water scarcity affects over a billion people across all continents. The many causes of water shortage include deforestation, unsustainable uptake of freshwater and poor water management and distribution. India’s river wars pop up between states and across the country’s borders. Some prognosticators say that full-blown wars may one day be fought over water. What can be done – immediately and over time, by individuals and nations – to conserve and replenish this most indispensable resource?
